Old single-panel rads swapped for double-panels, towel rails added to bathrooms, designer column rads for a refurb. Sized to the room properly (heat loss calc, not eyeballed), valved with TRVs and lockshields, balanced once the system is hot.
Scope changes with the property, but these four areas are the spine of any radiator installations appointment with SF.
Room dimensions, glazing, insulation, exposed walls. All fed into a proper BTU calc. Right-sized radiator that warms the room without making it stuffy or leaving it cold.
Chrome and matt-black towel rails for bathrooms, vertical column radiators for hallways and reception rooms. Run on chrome pipework where it shows.
Thermostatic valves on every habitable room, lockshield for balancing. System balanced once running so the furthest radiator is hot in the morning, not lukewarm.
New inhibitor dosed in after install, system topped to correct pressure, magnetic filter cleaned if you have one. Bleed valves left where you can reach them.
Often yes, but only after a heat loss calc. Putting an oversized rad on a system that cannot supply it just means the rest of the house gets less. We size properly.
Single swap in an accessible spot: 2 to 3 hours including drain-down. Multiple rads or a vertical install with new pipework: half a day to a full day.
Wet underfloor heating systems on a new bathroom or kitchen floor: yes, often as part of a tiling job. Whole-house UFH retrofits: case by case, usually only on solid-floor extensions.
Nest, Hive and Tado fitted on most of our installs. Cabled into the boiler properly, not stuck on a battery-only base. Worth doing if you are replacing a boiler at the same time.
SF covers Leicester city and the wider county. Travel further is taken on negotiation.
